Terms of service (DRAFT draft-2026-10)

1. Honest Local Web (a sole proprietorship in Chatham-Kent, Ontario) provides self-serve website tools and hosting. You build and edit your own site.
2. You are responsible for everything on your site and confirm you have the right to use it. Illegal, hateful, adult, gambling, misleading or infringing content isn't allowed. Automatic checks may block publishing, and sites that break these terms may be taken offline.
3. There is one plan: $15 CAD a month, or $150 CAD a year, billed through Stripe. There is no setup fee. HST is not charged (small supplier under $30,000); this will change with notice if that stops being true. If you cancel within 7 days of your first payment, that payment is refunded automatically. After that, cancelling stops future payments and your site stays up until the end of the paid period.
4. Your site is published at honestlocalweb.ca/<your name>. If you own a domain, you may forward it to that address at your registrar. The domain and its registrar account stay yours and are your responsibility.
5. Anyone can report a site. Reported sites are hidden automatically until the owner fixes and republishes them.
6. If payment fails and Stripe's automatic retries don't succeed, the plan ends and the site goes offline.
7. We aim to keep sites online but don't guarantee uptime. Our liability is limited to the fees you paid in the last 3 months.
8. Your content stays yours, and you can download your site at any time.
9. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
