Help and FAQ
How does it work?
Fill in one form, pick a design and pay. Your site is built and goes live straight away at honestlocalweb.ca/yourname. Change anything you like later and click Publish. Changes go live in seconds.
How much is it?
$15 a month, or $150 a year (2 months free). $0 setup. HST not charged (small supplier under $30,000).
Can I take my site with me?
Yes. In "My site", click "Download my site" for a zip of your pages that you can host anywhere.
What does "Report this site" do?
Anyone can report a site from the link at the bottom of it. The site is hidden straight away and its owner is told why. The owner can fix it and publish it again.
Who builds my site?
You do, with our tools. The designs were made locally in Chatham-Kent; you fill them in and edit them yourself. There are no meetings or calls.
How do I change my site later?
Sign in, click "My site", change the boxes and click Publish. There's no limit on changes.
Why won't my site publish?
Our automatic checks found something to fix, like a web link in the text or a word we can't host. The message on your screen says exactly what to change.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, at no extra cost. Your site lives at honestlocalweb.ca/yourname. In "My domain" we show you how to turn on free forwarding at your registrar (GoDaddy, IONOS, Namecheap, Squarespace, Rebel, Porkbun and others), so typing yourbusiness.ca takes visitors to your site. We detect it automatically. The address bar shows the honestlocalweb.ca address.
How do I cancel?
Sign in and go to Billing. Cancel within 7 days of your first payment and that month is refunded automatically. After that, your site stays up until the end of the month you paid for.
How do I reach a person?
This is a self-serve service, so there's no phone line. Most answers are on this page. Emails to support get an automatic reply pointing here.
Do I need to register my business or charge HST?
That's up to you, not us. See ontario.ca/page/register-business-name-ontario and canada.ca for HST.
